There is no more important fashion skill to master than layering. For most of us, layering is a skill that must be learned. Also its a myth that you can’t create a layered look for the warm weather. The trick is to remember a few important points.
Firstly, you don’t need to overthink it! It is quite simple. Keeping the summers in mind, layer down your look. Its important to keep it simple and stylish. If you are new to layering, start by layering tonally. You can mix and match colours later on.
While working with similar tones, just a splash of colour is sure to amp up your layered look. Try loose layers over fitted ones which not only give an illusion of a slimmer body but also help in hiding whatever you want to hide.
Here, I’ve decided to style this lovely Burberry inspired poncho from the E-commerce label Closet Diaries. I layered it over a fitted black tank top and skinny knee-ripped denims. What I really like about this poncho is the material that its made of. Its a mix of jersey and cotton fabric which is quite light weight. I teamed this ensemble with these fabulous wide heeled black shoes from the Nepal based label called DULLA. The interesting part about this label is that they are all 100% handcrafted! So each pair is unique in its own! I fell in love with them the moment I set sight on them!
Since the tonality of the outfit is pretty basic, I added a pop of colour with a layered neck-piece from Blurstore and completed the look with my Prada sunnies.
Hope I’ve been able to throw some light on the subject of light layering in the summers. Would love to know your thoughts on this look.
Lots of love!
